COVID-19 CASES RISE IN LAWRENCE COUNTY

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 965 new confirmed cases of coronavirus Sunday with 6 additional confirmed deaths. Lawrence County continued to see an increase in cases with 3 more reported on Sunday. Those were a female under the age of 18, a male age 18, and a male under the age of 18. The Lawrence County Health Department reports that none of the cases are related and all are currently in quarantine in their homes with contact tracing ongoing. There have been no deaths. With the number of cases rising locally and in surrounding counties, it is important for people to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19. The LCHD urges residents to take steps to minimize the risk of spreading the disease by social distancing, using good hand hygiene, clean frequently touched surfaces and wear a face mask or covering. Lawrence County now has 25 confirmed cases of the virus. Wayne County now has 27, Crawford County 25, Wabash 23 and Richland 10.
