The Illinois Deaprtment of Public Health reports there were 1,317 new cases of coronavirus Sunday across the state with 25 additional confirmed deaths. There was an influx of cases in Lawrence County over the weekend. Two cases were confirmed positive Friday-a female in her teens and a male in his 60s. Two more cases were confirmed Saturday-a female in her 70s and a male in his 40s. All are in home isolation with contact tracing being done. There were 2 new cases of the disease in Crawford County with the count there at 20. Clay County had 6 new cases this past weekend upping its number to 8. Richland County also reported a case Sunday with the number of positive cases there at 9. Local and area health officials stress that the virus is still around the area and people should continue to social distance, wearing a mask in public, and wash your hands frequently.
