SMALL FIRE EQUIPMENT GRANTS ISSUED

The office of the Illinois State Fire Marshall has announced the recipients from the Small Equipment Grant Program. The program was established to provide grant funding up to $26,000 for the purchase of small firefighting and ambulance equipment. A total of $3.5 million was awarded to 154 fire departments and districts along with emergency management service providers across the state. Over 500 applications were recieved. There were some area fire districts who were recipients-in Crawford County the Oblong Township FPD recieved $26,000-in Edwards County the West Salem Fire Department recieved $15,845 and in Wabash County the Bellmont Area Fire Protection District gets $21,450.
