The Illinois Department of Public Health reports there were 929 new cases of coronavirus across the state Thursday with 116 additional confirmed deaths. Currently there have been a total of 124,759 cases statewide since the pandemic began with 5,736 deaths in 101 counties. Lawrence County remained at 4 confirmed cases with all having recovered and no deaths. Crawford County remains at 11, Wabash County at 6 and Richland County at 4 cases. The state is now opening their community based testing sites at various locations for anyone to get tested regardless of symptoms or other criteria. No appointment, doctor referral or insurance is needed and testing is at no cost to the individual. For more information visit the IDPH website for testing locations in the Lawrence County area.
