The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 982 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday across the state with 97 more deaths. Those numbers bring the statewide case total since the pandemic began to 123,830 and the death total to 5,621 in 101 of the 102 counties. Lawrence County remained at 4 cases with none active and there are 5 test results pending. In neighboring Richland County another positive case was reported. The Richland County Health Department says that a female in her 60s was discovered to be infected and has been placed in self-isolation at home with all contacts being traced. The case is number four for that county.
