The Vincennes City Board of Works and Safety met in in-person session Monday at City Hall. They approved the declaration of the Gimbel Corner property as surplus. The city took ownership of the land in 2012 after the 2011 building fire. Mayor Joe Yochum indicated that declaring the property as surplus will help move along its potential sale. He said there has been interest in obtaining the land for development in the future.
