ILLINOIS CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 2,641 new cases of the coronavirus Thursday across the state with 138 more people dying. There was a third positive COVID-19 case in Wayne County Thursday as a man in his 80s became infected. He is now in isolation and the Wayne County Health Department has begun contact tracing. Another positive case was confirmed Thursday in neighboring Crawford County-the 11th. This time a young person became infected and has been placed in isolation with contact tracing underway. Lawrence County remains stationary with 3 confirmed cases and no deaths along with Richland County. Wabash County also remains with 2 cases. There have now been a total of 70,873 cases of the disease with 3,111 deaths in 97 counties since the pandemic began.
