The Lawrenceville Indians have a new head basketball coach and he is a familiar name already in house. The Unit 20 Board of Education Wednesday unanimously named Ian Laughlin to the position. Laughlin was assistant varisty and JV head coach for the Tribe this past season-his first with the program. Prior to coming to LHS, Laughlin was an assistant coach at Wabash Valley College in Mt Carmel and also had coached at Richland County High School in Olney. LHS principal Paul Higginbotham and athletic director Jamie Schultz headed the search for a new coach after Randy Bishop stepped down this season after 8 years. There were four applicants for the job and Laughlin was the only candidate interviewed.
