Lawrence County Memorial Hospital is under lockdown. That according to Chief Executive Officer Don Robbins. Robbins informed WAKO of the new restrictions Tuesday. The measures have been put into place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and protect hospital staff and other personnel from becoming ill. There will be limited entry to the hospital for all patients at the hospital main entrance from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. or the emergency room after hours. No visitors will be permitted into the hospital unless under special circumstances. All patients will be screened before entering the hospital. Visiting hours will be discontinued until further notice. No business meetings will be held on hospital property and Dietary Services (the cafeteria) will be closed to the general public until further notice.
