Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum touted successes in the past and growth in the future during his annual State of the City address following the Vincennes City Council meeting Monday night. He spoke about gains in infrastructure, recreation, and economic development over the past year and says the city is continuing to grow in those areas. But his message was tempered by a tight fiscal forecast for the city in the future due to factors such as a lower assessed valuation. However Mayor Yochum says the city has anticipated this and has made plans to be as frugal as possible in many areas while continuing to offer services to its citizens.
