STATE PUBLIC HEALTH DISASTER PROCLAMATION

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzger has issued a  public health disaster declaration as four new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the state. Two of the new cases are related to a sixth case announced last week and another returned earlier this month from an Egyptian cruise. The governor says the state response to the outbreak has been robust and he is asking citizens to do their part by reporting if they have symptoms of the disease and not spreading it. The disaster declaration helps the state gain additional federal resources to fight the disease. 13 other states have also issued such declarations.
