Brett Bobe is now officially the new Vincennes City Fire Chief. The department veteran was given the oath of office and sworn in by Mayor Joe Yochum during the Board of Works and Safety meeting Monday night. Bobe was named as interim Chief after the recent resignation of Sonny Pinkstaff who was chief for five years. Pinkstaff has returned to regular battalion duty. The Board did recieve bids on 7 properties as part of the Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Grant Program. Those have been taken under advisement for further study and review by Jenny Dearwester of the Southern Indiana Development Commission. It is hoped an award can be made on March 23rd.
