A southwestern Indiana correctional officer has been charged after a female inmate he had transferred accused him of sexually assaulting her. Indiana State Police report that 23 year old Malyk Johnson of Montgomery was charged Wednesday with Sexual Battery, Official Misconduct, and Trafficking with an Inmate. Investigators say he was assigned to pick up the 37 year old woman at the Henderson County Kentucky Jail for transfer to Knox County Indiana to face local charges there. While en route, Johnson alledgedly stopped at a gas station and bought the woman tobacco. When the duo reached Knox County, he alledgedly pulled off onto a rural road and assaulted the woman. The female prisoner reported the incident to her attorney, who then went to prosecutors.
