The Illinois State Police District 12 out of Effingham has released the results of a Nighttime Enforcement Patrol held last month in Lawrence and Richland Counties. Those patrols focused on impaired driving and the non-use of seat belts by travelers between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. During the patrol there were 3 Occupant Restraint violations, 5 Registration violations, 2 Drivers License offenses, 4 Insurance violations, with 8 total arrests and citations issued. The State Police will also be conducting Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols during the month of March in Lawrence and Crawford Counties. Those patrols will focus on increasing compliance with safety belt and child safety seat laws. Illinois law requires all vehicle passengers both front and back to be buckled up.
