INDIANS WIN ON SENIOR NIGHT

The Lawrenceville Indians broke open a tight game with pressure in the third quarter that led to points off turnovers and they hit their free throws down the stretch to beat the Carmi-White County Bulldogs 50-41 on Senior Night-the final home game of the regular season. The Indians honored their five seniors by starting them in the contest. The Tribe led 16-14 after one quarter but fell behind at the half 23-22 before a Blayne Winningham reverse layup to open the third quarter scoring led to a run and a lead of 33-30 after three. The Bulldogs were forced to foul in the fourth and the Indians hit the shots and picked up the win. Senior Noah Weger led the scoring with 17 and Winningham also a senior had 10. The Indiana JV also were 41-36 winners with Leyton Ivers scoring 16 and Hunter Scott 12. The Indians improve to 14-12 while CWC falls to 15-14. The Indians end the regular season on the road Friday at Flora.  The game also was the final home game for Indian head coach Randy Bishop who is stepping down  at the end of the season and LHS honored the coach and his family after the game.
