LAWRENCE COUNTY #4 IN OIL PRODUCTION

Illinois crude oil production totaled over 8.2 million barrels in 2019. That according to data and statistics compiled and released by the Illinois Petroleum Resource Board. White County was the top oil producing county in the state with over 2 million barrels produced-nearly a quarter of the overall state production total. Marion County was second, Crawford County was third with over 743,000 barrels produced, Lawrence County fourth with 639,774 barrels produced and Fayette County was fifth rounding out the top five oil producing counties in 2019. Overall, Illinois oil production declined 2.3% from 2018 levels. The state’s top 15 oil producing counties all in southern Illinois accounted for 90% of all production in the state.
