2 people were sentenced to prison in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. States Attorney Michael Strange announced that 56 year old Brenda Cates of Vincennes was given a term of 30 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections with 1 year of mandatory supervised release for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Illinois Felony. She must also pay all assessments. 30 year old Adam Merritt of Flat Rock was given a term of 30 months in the DOC along with 1 year of mandatory supervised release for Theft, a Class 3 Illinois Felony. He also must pay all fines and assessments.
