INDIANS LOSE TO CASEY AT L.I.C. TOURNEY

The Lawrenceville Indians offense was shackled by tough Casey Warrior defense Saturday in a 46-33 loss in the quarterfinals of the Little Illini Conference Boys Basketball Tournament at Paris. The Warriors held the Tribe to just four baskets in the first half and 31 percent shooting in the win. The Indians never led in the contest as they had a two game winning streak snapped. Noah Weger was the only Indian in double figures with 14 points while Warrior guard Noah Livingston, who surpassed the 1000 point mark in his career during the game, topped Casey with 21 points and 11 rebounds. With the loss, the 11-9 Indians will face 5-16 Flora in the consolation bracket semifinals Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Casey at 15-6 will meet Marshall Tuesday in the championship semifinals at 6 p.m. The #1 seeded 19-2 Lions held off Flora 44-42 in quarterfinal play. In the other quarterfinals Saturday #2 seed Olney rolled over #7 seed Paris 52-37 and #3 seed Robinson won over #6 seed Newton 55-52.
