The Illinois State Police out of District 12 in Effingham have released their monthly activity report for December. Troopers in the district which includes Lawrence County answered 310 calls for service during the month and initiated 1374 incident investigations in the field. There were 545 citiations issued-256 were for speeding, 85 for seat belt violations, 54 for distracted driving, 7 for not moving over and 5 for no child restraints. There were 24 criminal arrests and 7 DUI arrests. Troopers also investigated 113 traffic accidents during December-none were fatal.
