FLOOD WARNINGS FOR EMBARRAS AND WABASH

The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for both the Embarras and Wabash Rivers till further notice. The Embarras at Lawrenceville is rapidly rising due to excessive rain and is anticpated to go above flood stage Saturday and reach near 37 feet-7 feet above flood by the middle of next week. The Wabash at Vincennes is also still below flood and is rising. It is forecast to rise above flood stage of 16 feet Sunday and rise to near 23.5 feet by next weekend with additional rises possible. A reminder from the National Weather Service for those traveling in areas prone to flooding to “Turn around-Don’t Drown” if you come upon flood waters across the road.
