Lomer F. Guite, age 91 of St. Francisville, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Vincennes, IN at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Portage, WI on May 28, 1928 to John Charles Guite and his wife Marie (Fournier) Guite.
On February 27, 1955, Lomer married Dorothy Kohlhouse. Dorothy preceded him in death on January 31, 2019.
As a young man, Lomer served our country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. While serving, he earned a Silver Star. Upon returning home, Lomer began working as an iron worker out the Local #103 of Evansville.
Surviving relatives include: three children- John Guite of St. Francisville, Mark Guite of St. Francisville, and Ann Dods and husband Bryan of Greer, SC: and three grandchildren- Audrey and Elizabeth Rose Dods and Hunter Guite.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- John Charles Guite and Marie Guite: his wife of 64 years- Dorothy Guite: two sisters- Marie Fitzpatrick and Rose Broz.
A funeral service will be held for Lomer Guite at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the St. Francisville Christian Church. Visitation will be held Monday evening at the church from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
