COLD AND SNOW AFFECTS AREA

Monday’s snow combined with bitterly cold conditions overnight and Tuesday morning caused roads across the WAKO listening area to become slick and hazardous. That led to the cancellation of school in both Lawrence and Knox Counties Tuesday along with other closings and event cancellations. Authorities say that the conditions caused a number of vehicle slideoffs and collisions and the road conditions will remain slick especially on rural roads and little used side streets and alleys in many cities so drive with caution. Highs Tuesday will only be in the low to mid 20s.
