The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for the entire WAKO listening area in southeastern Illinois and southwestern Indiana. Accumulating snow is expected across the region Monday afternoon into Monday evening. Anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of snow is forecast. A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued for the area as bitter cold is forecast to enter the region behind an arctic cold front that will move through. Wind chills are expected to be near zero by early Tuesday morning.
