The City of Vincennes has announced that effective immediately Officer Robert “Ben” Hammond has been suspended without pay from the Police Department. The suspension was due to felony neglect of a dependent and criminal confinement charges brought against him and his wife by the Indiana State Police. The Police Merit Board will meet Thursday in executive session at 5 p.m. Eastern Time at Police headquarters in Vincennes to discuss the matter.
