Dr William “Tom” Thompson has been named the recipient of the 2019 Phillip Shelton Humanitarian Award. The Monroe City Indiana physician will be honored with the award Sunday in the Eva Hill Auditorium at the Good Samaritan Hospital Health Pavilion in Vincennes at 2 p.m. Eastern time. The public is invited to attend. The Shelton award was established in 1998 to recognize and promote those who provide humanitarian achievement in Knox County and work to improve the general well being and happiness of others.
