The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that U.S. 50 between Business U.S. 50 and Illinois Route 1 will reopen Wednesday October 23rd to vehicular traffic. The road had been closed since early September to remove the bridge just east of Illinois Route 1 north of Lawrenceville and construct new pavement in its place. Motorists are still asked to use caution when traveling in that area.
