ONE KILLED IN JEEP-MOPED COLLISION

A Jeep-Moped collision on US 41 in southwestern Indiana has claimed the life of a Washington Indiana man. Indiana State Police report that around 9:45 p.m. Eastern Time 26 year old Kayla Jones of Bicknell was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee and had just entered US 41 northbound from Willow Street and collided with the rear of a 2019 Moped being driven by 22 Robert Vaquero of Huntingburg Indiana. A passenger on the moped 21 year old Skylar Newton died at the scene. Vaquero was injured and initially taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and later lifeflighted to St Vincents Hospital in Evansville in serious condition. Jones was not hurt in the mishap. Authorities investigating the fatal collision say Jones could not see the moped prior to the collision because it’s taillight was not working.
