Good ecomonic news for Southeastern Illinois. Unemployment rates from July to August dropped according to figures released by the Illinois Department of Employment Security. The jobless rate in Lawrence County for August was 4.8% down from 5.2% in July. In Richland County the rate in August was 3.8% down from 4%. In Crawford County it was 4.1% in July down to 4% in August and in Wabash County it was 3.9% in July down to 3.6% in August. According to the IDES the drops reflect an upward trend in the economy statewide with more people finding jobs and more jobs being created.
