REDS KNOCK OFF CUBS BEHIND GRAY

The Chicago Cubs offense was shut down by the solid pitching of Cincinnati Reds starter Sonny Gray Tuesday night falling 4-2 in game two of their series at Wrigley Field. The loss snapped a five game Cub winning streak. They managed just 2 runs against Gray and relievers Michael Lorenzen and Raisel Iglesius on five hits. Yu Darvish took the loss for the Cubs. The Cubs dropped into a tie with the surging Milwaukee Brewers for the second NL wild card behind Washington and remained two games behind the St Louis Cardinals for the NL Central Division lead. The series concludes Wednesday night under the lights with Tyler Mahle (2-11) scheduled to pitch for the Reds and Jon Lester (13-10) for the Cubs.
