The Illinois State Police District 12 out of Effingham have released the results of recent Occupant Restraint Enforcement Patrols (OREP) conducted in August in Lawrence and Crawford Counties. Those patrols were designed to focus on saving lives by making sure all vehicle occupants were buckled up. There were 22 safety belt citations issued, no child restraint citations were issued and there were 28 overall citations issued. The patrols were funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
