CUBS WIN PITCHERS DUEL WITH GIANTS

Kyle Hendricks pitched seven sharp innings  and Anthony Rizzo drove in the only run of the game Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field as the Chicago Cubs shut out the San Francisco Giants 1-0 to sweep the three game series. Rizzo had one of the two Cub hits on the day. The win was the fifth straight for the Cubs who maintained a 1/2 game lead over the St Louis Cardinals in the NL Central Division. The loss was the fourth in a row for the Giants. The Cubs are back at it again Friday at Wrigley as they begin a three game weekend set with the Washington Nationals. Pitching pairing has Anibal Sanchez (7-6) going for the Nats and Jon Lester (10-8) for the Cubs. The game can be heard on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame show at 12:45 p.m. Central Time 1:45 Eastern.
