LUCROY HIT GIVES CUBS WIN

Jonathan Lucroy hit a  single in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a 3-3 tie and enable the Chicago Cubs to beat the San Francisco Giants 5-3 in game one of their three game series Tuesday night at Wrigley Field. Anthony Rizzo also blasted two homers to back the pitching of Cole Hamels who pitched six innings for his first win in two months. Hamels permitted three runs and five hits in his first win since June 12th. The win also kept the Cubs 1/2 game behind the St Louis Cardinals in the tight NL Central race. Game two is under the lights Wednesday with Yu Darvish (4-6) going for the Cubs against Dereck Rodriguez (5-6) for the Giants.
