J.T. Realmuto hit a grand slam and Bryce Harper homered twice to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to an 11-1 beatdown of the Chicago Cubs Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park ruining the return of Cole Hamels. Hamels, the 2008 NLCS and World Series MVP with the Phillies was roughed up in his first game back in Philadelphia since he was traded to the Texas Rangers in 2015. He fell to 6-4 on the season after giving up 8 runs and 9 hits in two plus innings. Aaron Nola of the Phillies picked up his 11th win of the season allowing 3 hits and striking out 7 in 7 innings. The only Cub run came on a Kris Bryant homer. The Cubs try to avoid a sweep of the three game series Thursday. They’ll send Yu Darvish (4-6) to the mound against Drew Smyly (2-6) in the finale.
