Lawrenceville Police Chief Jim White has issued his departmental activity report for the month of July. They recieved 350 requests for an officer. The department was involved in 12 drug investigation, 8 assault and battery investigations, 7 theft investigations, 5 burglary investigations and 3 vandalism investigations. There were single cases of shoplifting and vehicle theft. Lawrenceville Police made 18 felony and 23 misdemeanor arrests in July and issued 9 ordinance violations. They handled 12 traffic accident in July with 10 of those involving property damage. There was 1 personal injury accident and 1 case of hit and run. Lawrenceville Police assisted the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and the Illinois State Police 5 times in July and assisted emergency fire and medical personnel 5 times during the month.
