The Lawrenceville City Council Thursday night approved an ordinance rezoning property at 1510 State Street owned by Meyer Oil of Teutopolis from R-1 (residential) to B-3 (highway business). The move will allow for the expansion and rebuilding of the existing Mach-One Convienence store located at 15th and State Streets. The 7-1 vote in favor of the rezoning came after a favorable recommendation by the city zoning commission. Jake Meyer of Meyer Oil, the owners of the Mach-One indicated after the affirmative vote that the expansion work would begin next year. The initial plans are to add a Little Caesars Express pizzaria and a gaming room to the location along with other improvements including expanded parking and gas pumps. Mayor Don Wagner heralded the move by the council saying it will be good for the city and hopefully spur additional economic development.
