For the first time in its history the Rides Mass Transit District has eclipsed 1 million passengers on its routes. The mark was passed during the previous fiscal year ending June 30th. In total RTMD saw a 36% increase in ridership. Over 1.1 million rides were given throughout the 18 county service area which includes Lawrence County and others in southern and east central Illinois. Rides Mass Transit is the largest rural public transit district in the state.
