Jason Heyward homered, tripled and drove in three runs to propel the Chicago Cubs to a 7-2 victory Sunday over the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field and a three game sweep of their weekend series in the friendly confines. Kyle Schwarber also went deep to support the solid start of Yu Darvish who went five effective innings for the win. Christian Yelich of the Brewers did hit his major league-best 37th homer in the contest but it was not enough. The loss was the fourth straight for Milwaukee and leaves them four games behind the Cubs in the National League Central Division. The win coupled with a St Louis Cardinal loss at Oakland Sunday increased the Cub lead to 1 1/2 over the Redbirds. The Cubs are right back at Wrigley Monday night to open a three game interleague series against the Oakland A’s. It will be Kyle Hendricks (8-8) going for the Cubs and Chris Bassitt (7-5) for Oakland. Catch the action on Lite 103 WAKO beginning with the pregame show at 6:30 p.m. Central Time 7:30 Eastern.
