Charles “Corky” Harris, Sr., age 68 of Trimble, passed away at home on Saturday, July 20, 2019. He was born March 17, 1951 in Oblong to Junior Ray Harris and his wife Florence (Crum) Harris.
As a young man, Corky proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army.
Corky loved his family above all else. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, talking on his CB, and being on the open road. He owned his own trucking company alongside his boys.
Surviving family includes: his partner of over 49 years- Cathy Harris of Trimble: one son- Charles Harris, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Palestine: one daughter- Florence “Sissy” Harris and husband Michael Mullins of Robinson: one daughter-in-law- Michelle Harris: ten grandchildren- Presley Harris and wife Talee, Angel Wilson and husband Brady, Tobby Harris and wife Sammantha, Hope Harris and husband Coltin Woods, Charles Harris III, Mikey Harris, Andrew Harris and wife Elizabeth Skaggs, Corky Harris, Ty Harris, James Miller and wife Jeana: ten great-grandchildren and four more on the way: five sisters- Wanda McDaniel, Sandy Meeks, Vivian Harris, Bert Harris, and Tammy Harris: four brothers- Billy, Ray, Robert “BJ”, and Mike Harris: and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents- Junior and Florence Harris: two sons- Evertt Harris and Wayne Harris: one daughter- Kathy Harris: one grandson- Preston Harris: one sister- Jenny Parker: and his two best friends- Ralph Carter and Ricky Green.
A funeral service will be held for Charles “Corky” Harris at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Oblong Cemetery. Military rites will be given at the cemetery.
