109th District Republican State Represenative Darren Bailey formally announced Monday that he will seek the 55th State Senate District seat. He made the announcement at the Wayne County Courthouse in Fairfield. The rural Clay County farmer is looking to replace current 55th District State Senator Dale Righter who announced earlier this spring that he would not seek re-election. The Primary Election will be in March of 2020. Bailey was elected to his first term as 109th District State Represenative in November of 2018. The 109th District does include portions of Lawrence County.
