The Lawrence Public Library Board of Trustees met in regular session Tuesday night. The board approved the spending of approximately $52,000 for the digitization of the library’s newspaper microfilm collection. The collection will also include the microfilm collection of the Sumner Press which spans nearly 100 years. The project was made possible due to money given by the estate of Richard “Dick” Poppe.
