Petersburg Man Leads Police on Slow Chase from Vincennes to Gibson County

   Indiana State Police arrested a Petersburg early Saturday morning following a 1 ½ long slow speed chase. 36-year-old Joshua Hyneman is accused of fleeing the scene of a property damage accident in Vincennes after fighting off people who were trying to stop him. Hyneman swerved at two Vincennes Police vehicles on his way out of town. Police used stop sticks were used at 14th and Willow and deflated one of Hyneman’s tires. The chase then went to Decker in southern Knox County where Hyneman’s vehicle, which was clocked at around 20 mph, hit a utility pole which led to live wires falling on a Vincennes Patrol vehicle. The chase then proceeded into Gibson County where stop sticks were used again to deflate a second tire. Hyneman was apprehended when his vehicle finally gave out east of Hazleton. Hyneman was charged with  Resisting Law Enforcement with A Vehicle; Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of .16%; Operating While Intoxicated, Endangerment; Reckless Driving; and two counts of Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
