Former Red Hill High School and collegiate golfer Tanner Gray captured the 2019 Shootout in the preliminaries for the Silverthorne Auto Lawrence County Open golf tournament Friday at the Lawrence County Country Club. He bested Matt Davis of Terre Haute the 2018 tournament runnerup who was second and defending tournament champion Trey Tussey of Chicago who was third in the affair. Gray is among the favorites to win the annual tournament who gets underway with first round play Saturday and concludes with the final round Sunday. The winning foursome in the AM-AM tournament were Tom Doyle, Steve Potts, David Kiely, and Larry Tackitt with a 302 total.
