Two Sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court

   Lawrence County State’s Attorney Michael Strange announced that two people were sentenced in Lawrence County Circuit Court this week. 51 year-old Joseph L. Moore of Vincennes was re-sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude.  Moore had previously been placed on two years of felony probation; but admitted to violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for probation appointments. Moore’s prison sentence will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Moore is also required to pay fines as well as court costs.

   34 year-old Aaron D. Phillips of Vincennes was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. That will be followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Phillips is also required to pay a $500 drug assessment as well as court costs.
