Kyle Hendricks pitched eight strong innings, Kyle Schwarber homered for the second straight game and Kris Bryant added a solo home run in his return to the lineup to help the Chicago Cubs avoid a sweep of their interleague series with the Houston Astros 2-1 at Minute Maid Park Wednesday night. The game was marred after a young female fan was struck by a foul ball hit by Cub outfielder Albert Almora Jr in the top of the fourth inning. She was taken to the hospital with no further details on her condition released. The Cubs have a day off Thursday. They will open a three game weekend series with the St Louis Cardinals Friday at Busch Stadium.
