Indianapolis 500 pole sitter Simon Pagenaud remained atop the speed chart by posting a fast lap of 228.441 mph in the second to last practice session at the speedway Monday for Sunday’s race. Teammate Josef Newgarden was the second fastest at 228.273 mph.
