Yesterday it was confirmed that Knox County Councilman Jim Beery has died. He succumbed to injuries sustained in a farm accident on his property. Beery had been on the Knox County Council since 1991. He retired from teaching and coaching at the North Knox School Corporation in 2009. Knox County Council members honored his memory at yesterday’s Knox County Council session. Funeral arrangements for Beery are pending. At a later time, a caucus of Knox County Republicans will appoint someone to take the last three-plus years of his current term.
