The Newton Lady Softball Eagles scored a run in the bottom of the 7th inning to edge the Lawrenceville Lady Softball Indians 6-5 Wednesday in a rescheduled LIC game. The hosts scored 6 runs on 7 hits with 3 errors while the Lady Indians tallied 5 runs on 5 hits but made 5 errors. Jayley Akers had two hits and Caitlyn Wells drove in 2 runs. Abby Gartner took the pitching loss. The Lady Indians are now 9-11 and are scheduled to head to Bridgeport Friday for a Lawrence County encounter with the Red Hill Lady Salukis.
