Wanda M. Smith, age 103, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois. She was born January 25, 1916 in Lawrence County, Illinois, the daughter of Ellis V. and Myrtle E. (Catteron) Baldwin. She married D. Carson Smith on March 16, 1979 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1992.
Wanda worked as a retail salesperson for a number of years. Wanda and her husband, Carson, enjoyed traveling and spending their retirement years in Florida. While living in Florida, Wanda spent many hours knitting bonnets for children in the hospital.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Carson; four brothers, Eddie Baldwin, Robert Baldwin, Kelly Baldwin, and Guy Martin Baldwin; and two sisters, Susan Glasser and Evelyn Whittaker.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Charlottesville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Mooseheart Foundation.
