The Marshall Lady Lions pushed across a run in the bottom of the 7th inning and edged the Lawrenceville Lady Softball Indians 5-4 at Marshall Monday. Marshall scored 5 runs on 8 hits with 1 error while the Lady Indians scored 4 runs on 8 hits and also made 1 error. Jayley Akers had 3 hits and drove in 3 of the 4 runs while Katelyn Higginbotham added 3 hits and drove in the other Lady Indian run. Melody Lockhart took the pitching loss in relief. The Lady Indians are now 1-5 and are to host Hutsonville at Phil Alsman Field Tuesday.
