Illinois’ spring trout fishing season begins at sites across the state Saturday. The season begins at 5 a.m. Central Time and no trout can be taken before that time. All anglers must have a fishing license and an inland trout stamp unless they are under 16, disabled or a soldier on leave from active duty. The daily catch limit for each angler is five trout. Among the fishing locations in southeastern Illinois is Beall Woods State Park in Wabash County, Sam Dale State Fish and Wildlife Area in Wayne County, and the Casey Park Pond in Casey.
